P.E. Policies
Appropriate Attire:You may purchase the OMMS P.E. uniform (shirts and shorts) through the P.E. Department or bring your own clothes for P.E. Each student will be given a P.E. locker and lock in order to store his/her belongings securely.
If you are bringing your own uniform to use at school please make sure:
Additionally, HCPSS policy restricts jewelry or accessories from being worn during P.E. This rule includes earrings, bracelets, necklaces, scarves, watches, and any other accessory that may interfere with your child’s safety or ability to move freely during class. Stud earrings are allowed, along with detachable medical bracelets or medical necklaces.
Grading:
Students will be graded on their skills and knowledge, and participation in P.E. Each student will demonstrate his/her skills and knowledge throughout each unit through various activities, assignments, and assessments. This portion of the grade is worth 40% of the semester grade. The participation portion is a daily grade that consists of warm-up completion, activity completion, and behavior. Students will not receive full participation points if they are not dressed appropriately. Students that are not wearing appropriate shoes will not be able to participate, and will be given an alternate assignment. - Clothing must adhere to the school policy on appropriate dress.
- Clothing is appropriate for physical activity.
- We recommend bringing a long sleeve shirt and sweatpants for the colder months.
- We recommend that the student's name is written somewhere on the clothing
- Must have laces
- Should not go more than an inch past your ankles (up)
- Should have rubber soles
- Should be shoes intended for fitness use! (No Sperry's, Clark's, etc.)
